Othman Soliman
Founder & Principal Consultant
Othman Soliman is the founder of SC DrillTech and a Solids Control & Drilling Waste Management specialist with more than 26 years of international experience across the GCC and MENA regions, on both land and offshore operations. He is a recognised authority in solids-control systems, drilling-waste management and mud-system evaluation, and in the installation, commissioning and optimisation of complete fluid-processing packages — work delivered for operators and major service companies including Halliburton, SLB, NOV and M-I SWACO. Today he works independently, providing specialist technical and field-survey support directly to operators across the region.
Across ten countries in the GCC and MENA he has audited and evaluated solids-control and mud systems, led liquid-mud-plant and fluid-processing installations, and authored the formal evaluation and survey reports operators rely on for management decisions. His independent practice centres on five areas: full rig solids-control and mud-system evaluations, establishment surveys, solids-control and drilling-waste optimisation, on-call technical support, and detailed, source-verified technical reports — each grounded in measured data and benchmarked against the standards the operation is held to.
Alongside the field work, he has built and delivered structured technical-training programmes that raise local capability and crew competency. He founded SC DrillTech to make that expertise independent and accessible — a single, source-verified body of knowledge backed by a direct line to independent engineering support, helping teams diagnose problems, raise removal efficiency, control cost and meet their standards, regardless of whose equipment is on the rig.
